Georgia O’Connor

Name: Georgia O’Connor

Occupational Therapist

Where did you study?

Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.

Why did you get into paediatric occupational therapy?

I was motivated to work in the Paediatric field as I am passionate about working with children and their families to target meaningful goals and to assist children to reach their full potential. I love that Paediatric OT explores a much more fun and creative approach to therapy, which I strive to use to ensure that clients remain engaged in their unique therapy journey.

Why do you love your job?

I am proud to work within an environment that values quality, family centred care. I love the holistic nature of occupational therapy and working with diverse families to reach their unique and meaningful goals. I am fortunate to work within a team who inspires and motivates me to continue learning and enhancing my skills as an OT.

Favourite toys to use in therapy?

My personal favourite is Playdoh! However, any toy that will make the experience more enjoyable, spark a child’s interest in their therapy or is favoured by the child will also be favoured by me.
