Geebung child speech pathologist & occupational therapy rebates
At Cooee Speech Pathology, we want to help parents access ongoing child speech therapy and occupational therapy for kids across Geebung and Brisbane north suburbs, including Wavell Heights, Chermside, Zillmere and Northgate.
The following programs and services are available for kids speech pathology and paediatric occupational therapy at our Geebung clinic.
All our kids’ speech therapists and occupational therapists are registered with either their professional association or registration board, and have Medicare provider numbers. This means for eligible services, you may be able to claim on your private health funds, pending on your level of extras cover.
Please contact us directly to find out the code which will match your appointment, so you can determine rebate levels prior to attending your appointment.
Medicare EPC/CDM Program
We are happy to participate in Chronic Disease Management Plans, or as part of a Team Care Arrangement for your child’s care. Eligibility for this plan is determined by GPs, based on your child’s level of need, and in these cases a partial refund for up to five services per calendar year is available.
The refund does not cover the full cost of sessions, and sessions must be paid in full prior to accessing refunds. We do not bulk bill. Please contact your GP for more information.
Medicare Better Start for Children with a Disability (BS) / Helping Children with Autism Packages (HCWA)
These two initiatives provide children with an eligible diagnosis up to 20 sessions across allied health, where a partial refund may be provided for services including speech therapy for kids and occupational therapy. Plans are established by the paediatrician or GP at point of diagnosis. A written letter indicating the date of referral, provider number of the paediatrician, and number of services should be provided.
The refund does not cover the full cost of sessions, and sessions must be paid in full prior to accessing refunds. We do not bulk bill. Please contact your paediatrician or GP for more information about the Better Start and Helping Children with Autism programs.
FaHCSIA Better Start for Children with a Disability / Helping Children with Autism Package
Cooee Speech Pathology is currently a provider for HCWA and Better Start for Children with a Disability funding under the Pop and Top Consortium. All speech therapy for children and paediatric occupational therapy services which FaHCSIA considers in-scope (e.g. excluding literacy and academic skills) can be claimed on this funding.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
We are currently accepting self-managed clients under the NDIS funding, with a view to become a registered provider in 2018.
