Speech Pathology & Occupational Therapy under the NDIS

How Cooee Speech Pathology can help provide Speech and OT services for kids in Brisbane under the NDIS scheme.

At Cooee, we understand you want the best for your children. We also know that taking the first steps with NDIS on your therapy journey can be daunting, so the team at Cooee Speech Pathology are here to help and make this process as easy as possible!

Our team of caring and dedicated professionals based in Brisbane’s north are passionate about helping children develop and reach their full potential through fun and friendly, family centred,  paediatric speech and occupational therapy services.

We take an engaging and developmental approach, equipping children and parents with functional strategies to empower their own growth.

Some of the diagnoses we work with include:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Down Syndrome
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Fragile X
  • Global Developmental Delay

Are we a registered NDIS provider?

Yes.

Cooee Speech Pathology is a registered provider under NDIS and we offer NDIS funded services through the Early Childhood Supports and Therapeutic Supports  – Capacity Building Categories for families.  We also accept families who are self, plan and agency managed under the NDIS.

What is the difference between self, plan and agency management?

There are 3 types of NDIS management – Self, Plan and Agency.

  • Self managed plans are those that are managed by the family or carer.  These plans do not require a service agreement for therapy services to commence and payment is made by the family to Cooee Speech Pathology after the speech pathology or occupational therapy sessions have been completed.  Our client care team will then provide you with a copy of the invoice for your records and for you to submit your invoice on to the NDIS portal for reimbursement.

  • Plan managed families select a private plan manager to manage their NDIS funds.  A service agreement needs to be completed prior to any speech or occupational therapy services commencing and once completed and signed a service booking is made between Cooee Speech Pathology and the nominated plan manager.  At the completion of all therapy sessions an invoice is created by our client care team and then emailed to the plan manager for reimbursement.

  • Agency management applies to plans that are managed by the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).  Just as is the case with plan managed families, a service agreement needs to be completed prior to therapy services commencing.  Once this agreement has been made and signed, our clinic will make a service booking on the NDIS portal for the agreed upon therapy supports.  All sessions will then be entered on to this portal after they have been completed and payment will be received from the NDIS.

How Cooee Speech Pathology can help.

The team at Cooee Speech Pathology are here to help all families on their therapy journey and make that start as easy as possible.  Our client care team will help to determine which speech and/or occupational therapy assessment would be best suited for your child’s needs and will find a time for regular therapy that suits your schedule.  You will also receive a complimentary service agreement meeting with either our director, practice manager or one of our therapists.  This meeting will help us to complete a case history, gather information to assist your therapists and establish a schedule of supports for your child.  Once completed we will take care of the rest and your therapy can begin!

Our wonderful team of speech and occupational therapists will complete an assessment tailored to the needs of your child and provide your family with a detailed plan for therapy with goals to work towards and regular communication. They can also provide you with a progress report at the completion of your plan for your NDIS planning review meeting.
