Working At Cooee

My name is Giulia and I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Cooee team for the past 5 years.  There are so many reasons as to why Cooee Speech Pathology is an incredible place to work and in this blog I wanted to share 3 reasons why Cooee is a  fantastic place to work and is ideal for those who are passionate about working with families to support them on their therapy journeys whilst working in a fun, supportive and connected team.

Going On The Journey

At Cooee Speech Pathology we believe in going on the therapy journey with families and supporting them to grow and develop in a nurturing environment.  The team at Cooee are extremely passionate about helping people achieve meaningful goals and our Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Client Care team work in a collaborative model to provide the best possible multidisciplinary care and support to families.  At Cooee we want to be able to unlock each child’s full potential in a safe, relaxed and friendly environment where they can be themselves and achieve the best possible outcomes whilst being able to support them on each phase of their therapy journey.

The Team

The team at Cooee Speech Pathology are a wonderful group of people all working together in a caring, thoughtful and professional team.  Cooee exists as a network for individual and collective growth and has an intention for the team to come together and support each other and our families on their journeys.  Cooee nurtures opportunities for frequent team connections from team meetings and annual team retreats, to regular team social events and participating in awareness days.  We can never let a work anniversary or team birthday go by without a celebration and there is always a cake involved!  We all love spending time with one another and are so lucky to be a part of a team that finds the fun in each and every day.  The team truly values each other and deeply embodies our team core values as we all seek to go on the journey together.

Development and Growth

Over the course of my 5 years at Cooee I have been lucky enough to be provided opportunities to grow and expand my role into a variety of different areas and working at Cooee has afforded me the flexibility and support to develop my own career pathway whilst balancing work and family life.  I started as a casual client care team member and quickly moved into a full time client care role.  This role was invaluable in providing me with experience in supporting families at the commencement of their therapy journey with Cooee.  From there I moved into the Practice Manager role which has enabled me to develop my leadership and prioritisation skills whilst also being able to support and nurture our amazing team and families.

Cooee provides the team wonderful opportunities for personal, professional and clinical development and truly sees the value in connecting with each and every team member to support them in their specific growth and development pathways.  The variety of supports at Cooee include:

  • 1:1 Clinical Supervision
  • Coaching
  • 1:1 Dashboarding Sessions
  • An annual CPD budget
  • Regular team CPD sessions
  • Focus Group sessions
  • Regular Team Development sessions

Cooee has also developed 6 pillars in which team members come together to develop and lead projects which will add value and deepen connections within our team, our families and the wider community.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working in the client care and community pillars over my time at Cooee and have also had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the social media team which allows me to be creative and fun while providing education to our amazing social media following.

Cooee Speech Pathology is an incredible place to work and strives to provide high quality care and meaningful growth to all of its team members.
