Telehealth speech pathology appointments
At Cooee Speech Pathology we understand that for families living in rural and remote communities, getting the right support can be difficult. Long waitlists, hours of travel, and limited local services may mean children are missing out on early intervention when it matters most.
Telehealth removes two of the biggest barriers rural families face:
No Travel Required – Eliminate the long drives, therapy happens at home, saving hours every week.
Accessing Specialist Support – Connect with experienced speech pathologists, even if there are none in your local area.
Our telehealth services aren’t limited to rural clients only, check out the FAQ below for suitability and other requirements to access telehealth with Cooee.
Easy access to Speech Therapy online
Telehealth services provide accessibility where previously there were very limited options. Cooee Speech Pathology has been providing children and young adults with speech therapy support for over 15 years, and we have provided services via telehealth since 2018. Our teleheath services strive to provide the same engaging, outcome driven sessions that we provide in person.

Can I use funding for Telehealth Services?
- Private Health – All private health funds are different so we would advise that you contact your health fund directly with the relevant speech and/or occupational therapy telehealth codes relating to your assessment or therapy sessions. Your health fund will then be able to give you an estimate of the rebate you will receive. Our client care team would be happy to provide you with the relevant codes to assist your health fund.
- NDIS – Self, plan and agency managed participants who are receiving funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme are able to use their funding for Telehealth services. Our client care team will make sure your sessions are booked for the appropriate appointment type in order to claim. As a registered provider we adhere to the price limits set by the NDIA so you will never need to pay a “gap”.
- Medicare – Both CDM’s (Chronic Disease Management Plans) and CND’s (Complex neurodevelopmental disorder and disability services) can be accessed via Telehealth. A CDM or CND will entitle you to a refund from Medicare from the total session fee and does not cover the full amount for a session. All sessions must be paid for in full prior to processing the plan and we do not bulk bill. Our client care team is happy to assist with providing the relevant item code for claiming these sessions.
